Does it cost anything to join NSSA?
No. Simply fill out a preference sheet, submit it, and you will be added to our system.

Do I have to contact NSSA each time I have a job to be scoped?
As long as it is a job that requires a regular turn-around (4 days or more), submit the job on a regular job request. If it is an expedite or a daily, it is always best to give us a call to ensure that we give it immediate attention.

What do I do if I need changes or additions made to my preference sheet?

Send us an email or use the change form available at our website.

How do you handle audio files that are on tape?
At NSSA, we are able to easily convert audio tapes to digital files that can then be sent to the scopist via the internet.

How do I send files with audio to NSSA?
NSSA provides a large-file internet service to all of our clients at no charge to you. After researching many large-file services, we found this one to be very user-friendly.

What about the title page, index, etc.?
We do not touch your title page, index, errata sheet, etc. We only scope the text itself.

What about my formatting?
We do not touch or alter your formatting at all.

Will I be given the same scopist each time to do my work?
When we find that a court reporter and a scopist “click,” we will do our best to offer your future work to that scopist(s) first. However, we cannot guarantee that scopist will be available for every job.
