Court Reporters who use scopists make more money.

Sally and Susie are both court reporters.  Sally chooses to scope her own work while Susie uses a scopist on a regular basis.  Let's see what the difference is regarding their net income.

Sally  - On Monday, Sally took a job that was 250 pages and needed to be to her client, Mr. Jones, by Friday.  Mr. Jones asked her to take another job on Tuesday but Sally had to decline because she needed to use Tuesday to scope Monday's job.  Here is the breakdown of her income for those two days.

Susie - On Monday, Susie took a job that was 250 pages and needed to be to her client, Mr. Smith, by Friday.  So Susie cleaned up the job and sent it to her scopist for scoping.  When Mr. Smith asked her to take another job on Tuesday, Susie immediately said yes, knowing Monday's job would be ready in time for delivery on Friday.  Here is a breakdown of her income for those two days.
